Hoosier Railcar
was founded and incorporated on January 2, 1981. Hoosier
Railcar is capable of customization of rail cars. We are a
full service repair shop located on 9 acres of land.
Located in downtown East Chicago, IN., we are
in the heart of the Midwest. We service customers nationwide
for many different types of cars. Our primary focus are
safety and maintenance. This includes the safety of our work
force, safety of the environment, and the proper maintenance
of your cars. |

| All our repairs are performed according to Association of American Railroads (AAR) standards, and have been AAR M-1003 Quality Assurance Certified since August 1997. We repair covered hopper, open top hopper, box, bulkhead flat, gondola, ballast, and pressure differential covered hopper cars. We also specialize in exterior painting, interior lining, grit blasting, truck repairs, safety appliances, air brake tests, wrecks, and joint inspections. |

Hoosier Railcar has dedicated a great deal of time and resources to build and expand their East Chicago facility into the modern age of railcar repair. Coating and lining facilities, interior paint booth which is climate controlled, and blast cleaning are just a short list of our services.

| Hoosier
Railcar also sports a new interior paint booth which is
climate controlled. The paint booth has air operated man
lifts on either side of the booth, shortening paint
times, easing personnel work loads and increasing
productivity. These man lifts in conjunction with an
overhead crane, overhead and inspection pit fall
protection meets or exceeds all OSHA standards. |
